The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin has blamed the poverty situation on the continent in the post-independence era on bad leadership.

He noted that unlike leaders who fought for the independence of the various countries on the continent, present day leaders seek to acquire wealth for themselves at the expense of education and other social needs of their citizens.

He added that there is the need for a collective approach to solve the issue of poverty. He was speaking when the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Brett Goschen paid a courtesy call on him at his palace at Kyebi.
