Bessfa Rural Bank in the Garu District, in collaboration with Yara Company Limited Ghana, has donated 450 bags of Yara Activa fertilizer (50 kg each) to 150 women who have been loyal clients of the bank.

Each woman received three bags of Yara Activa fertilizer.

This donation is part of the Yara Grow Ghana program. The event took place on May 24, 2024, at the bank's premises in Garu.

During a brief ceremony, the bank's CEO, Alhaji Hayatudeen Ibrahim Awudu, expressed gratitude to Yara Ghana for their generous gesture towards the women, who he described as loyal clients of the bank. He encouraged the women to remain committed in their dealings with the bank and to repay their loans on schedule.

Alhaji Hayatudeen also announced that the bank's Board of Directors has approved a 2% reduction in interest rates for farming loans for the 2024 farming season. Additionally, loan groups dominated by women will benefit from a further reduced interest rate of 3%.

The women expressed their excitement and appreciation for the bank's support and encouraged more women to join the bank's farming groups.

Yara Ghana's agronomist, Mr. Basit, urged the women to continue working with the bank and to keep using Yara Ghana's high-quality products to achieve optimal yields per acre. He assured the farmers that Yara is committed to staying and providing the best products for their farms.

Attached are a few pictures from the program. It is our hope and prayer that this gesture will be extended to all branches of the bank in the coming years.
