A fire outbreak recorded at Ashaiman Official Town on Tuesday, May 21, has destroyed many houses.
The fire discovered at 13:45gmt was reported to the Ghana National Fire Service at 14:11gmt.
Subsequently, three fire tenders from Ashaiman, Motorway, and Tema Metro, led by the Tema Regional Operations Officer and Ashaiman Municipal Fire Officer, contained the blaze at 16:13gmt.
Unfortunately, several wooden structures used for both dwelling and commercial purposes at Ashaiman Official Town were destroyed by the fire.
The cause of the devastating fire according to the National Fire Service remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported from the fire outbreak but many residents and business owners have been left without homes and livelihoods.
Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service has stressed the need for better fire safety measures in various communities.
The Service also wants the citizenry to always report fire incidents as soon as they happen.
