The Ghanaian cedi has depreciated against the US dollar, declining by 5 pesewas and 4 pesewas on the buying and selling exchange rates, respectively.

The buying rate is now GHS13.06, while the selling rate is also being offered at GHS13.57 on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

This is based on data provided by Cedirates.com, a well-known Ghanaian website for currency and fuel updates.

The Cedi is trading at GHS12.99 purchasing and GHS13 selling prices at interbank rates.

Some prominent currency bureaus, namely AfriSwap and Albrim, are currently purchasing for GHS13.40 and GHS13.10, respectively, and selling at GHS13.70 and GHS13.70.

In comparison to our last post on Tuesday, the Cedi maintained value on selling price at AfriSwap and buying rates on Albrim but increased by 5 pesewas each at buying price at AfriSwap and selling price at Albrim against the US dollar.

In comparison to the rates on Tuesday, the British Pound Sterling has declined by 1 pesewa on the buying rates but increased by 2 pesewas on the selling rates against the Cedi.

The Euro has also declined by 2 pesewas in selling value but increased by 3 pesewas in buying value.

The buying rate and selling rate of the British Pound Sterling are, on average, GHS16.19 and GHS16.99, respectively.

The purchasing and selling rates for the euro are GHS13.82 and GHS14.52, respectively.

The selling price of the pound sterling on the Bank of Ghana interbank market is GHS16.16, 5 pesewas decline from the rates on Tuesday.

The euro is currently selling at GHS13.81 on the interbank market, a 3 pesewa decline from the rates on Tuesday.

Through LemFi and Afriex, people can send money to Ghana from the US or the UK at GHS13.05 and GHS12.90, respectively, for each dollar.

The two sites are offering buying rates of GHS16.60 and GHS15.08 for the British Pound, respectively.

The only one of the two that updated euro rates on Wednesday, Afriex, is selling GHS13.89 for €1.
