Akwasi Addai Odike, the Leader of the Union Government, has criticised President Akufo-Addo's administration, describing it as disastrous.

Speaking on the ‘Ghanakoma’ morning show on Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Mr. Odike expressed concern over the unprecedented hardship and suffering experienced under President Akufo-Addo's leadership.

Describing the current administration's tenure as a "disastrous experience" for the country, he questioned, “So what is the purpose of the continuity? Are we going to continue the disaster? Is that what we want to do?

He added, “We want to get rid of the disaster, and bring in a man with new ideas and a fresh direction for our nation.”

Commenting on the appointment of Hon Yaw Osafo-Maafo’s son as the Director-General of SSNIT during the interview, Odike urged Ghanaians to have confidence in the Union Government, assuring them of his commitment to working for the country's prosperity devoid of personal gain.

"I am not coming to fill my pockets with your money. I am coming to work to straighten up our country and bring it back to prosperity again," Odike affirmed.

In assessing the political landscape, Odike says former President John Dramani Mahama is not a credible alternative to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, Mahama lacks the qualifications and capability to effectively lead the country and deliver the leadership Ghanaians desire.
