Warmest felicitations from Obroniland to Abusuapanin and the whole abusua in Asomdwwekrom. I hope this epistle finds you well in our tropical homeland. I hear you folks are complaining about the atmospheric heat in Asomdekrom. How ironic that I miss the tropical weather back home!

I'm here in Obroniland grappling with the winter. I never imagined that winter could be so harsh and unforgiving. Back in Asomdwekrom, the coldest days were still warm and sunny, with gentle breezes and green landscapes.

But here in Obroniland, the cold is like a cruel enemy, biting and stinging my skin, freezing my bones, and numbing my senses.

The snow is but a relentless force, covering everything in a thick blanket of white, making it hard to walk, drive, or even see.

The wind is not a soothing sound, but a howling beast, tearing through the trees, blowing snowflakes into my eyes, and chilling my ears.

Anytime I walk or ride in the winter to campus or the supermarket for groceries, the late A. B. Crentsil's melodious “Ma me ndwene me ho” keeps ringing in my head.

I long for the warmth and comfort of Asomdwekrom, but I know I have to endure this winter, as it is part of my educational journey. I hope that spring comes soon, and bring some relief and joy to me in this freezing environment.

Frankly, I do not intend to stay in Obroniland after obtaining my doctoral degree. I would love to return to Asomdwekrom, work in the academia and help train the next generation of researchers. But that would definitely depend on the state of affairs by then.

It is the reason I'm very concerned about who succeeds Nana Dee as president. It's trite knowledge that the 2024 election is a two-horse race between Zu-za's President Ogwanfunu and Osono's Dr. Mahmudu Bawumia, aka 'Walewale Adam Smith'. And you already know my choice between the two, don't you?

Comments, they say, are free and facts are sacred. It's a fact that we have given President Ogwanfunu the chance to be Vice-President and President. It is also a fact that the country witnessed 'dumsor' for the entire period of his reign as president, thereby ensuring a 'dumsorized' economy.

Even with the dumsorized economy, the burden of the masses was made heavier as electricity tariff was increased arbitrarily. Not forgetting the collapse of many companies within the same period. How can we entrust our economy into the hands of such an incompetent bloke again?

Again, it is a fact that Dr. Bawumia has never been president. Though a member of the Economic Management Team (EMT), his authority does not supersede that of the finance minister. Unlike the finance minister who is clothed with constitutional powers, the EMT is only an advisory body that lacks any constitutional mandate.

Yet another fact is that he is the most hardworking vice-president this country has ever seen. His acumen, vision, and panache put him far ahead of all the Vice-Presidents we have ever had, President Ogwanfunu included.

Since we have once given President Ogwanfunu the chance to be on the presidential throne, it is only fair and just that we give Dr. Bawumia a chance too. But is there fairness and justice in politics?

Certainly, victory in the 2024 polls will not come on a silver platter considering the diabolic nature of the Great Elephant's main opponent. The Bawumia team must not leave any propaganda to go without a response because their political opponents have no limits. It must be a boot-for-boot affair, if you get what I mean!

Like Lawyer Kofi Bentsil and many others, I trust Dr. Bawumia. Not only is he incorruptible, but has also proven that he is the man the youth can wholly trust. Indeed, I will choose him any day over a Vice-President who was investigated by his own boss for corrupt acts. I will prefer Dr. Bawumia to a President who accepted a 100,000 green leaves Ford Expedition bribe under the guise of a gift.

We cannot be blamed for their inability to claim that “Government Official 1” is incorruptible. Indeed, they cannot make that claim because the facts do not support it. But we can claim the incorruptibility of 'the Digital Man' because the bare facts irrefutably support it.

It is a sacred duty to ensure that the future of Asomdwekrom is not thrown into the hands of a man who was President and sank our country into the deepest hole. The libidinous politician who promoted the 'create, loot and share' philosophy, deprived nursing and teacher trainees of their allowances, and called our complaints of economic misery “useless lamentations”.

Our future requires a President with the selflessness and commitment to making Asomdwekrom competitive in the global space. A leader with bold ideas and solutions to consolidate our gains and confront our challenges. These traits amply describe Dr. Bawumia, the man to lead us as we embrace the future.

The Nana Dee government has done well, no doubt. But it could have performed far better than the sad spectacle we are witnessing today. One cannot help but be saddened by the fact that Nana Dee's stubbornness in refusing to reshuffle his ministers and also reduce the over-bloated belly of the Elephant are among the reasons President Ogwanfunu deludes himself into believing that the resurrection of the Dead-Goat is a certainty.

I continue to stress that things are not so rosy today. Yes, the Nana Dee government could have done better.

Yes, not reducing the over-bloated belly of the Elephant in the face of severe economic challenges is one of the cardinal sins of the Nana Dee presidency.

But one thing is clear: This country is not ready for a fancy dreamer who will promise his compatriots the moon in order to deceive them into making him a 'honeymoon' President.
