The Awutu Bereku District Police Command is investigating the alleged ritual killing of a three-week-old baby.
A young man identified as Bright has been apprehended in the cause of the investigations and stands accused of killing his child.
Several reports have indicated that the 21-year-old man killed his newborn baby for suspected money rituals at Fetteh Kakraba in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The incident is said to have happened on Monday night when he visited the mother of his baby.
According to reports, the child’s mother left the baby with the suspect to run an errand.
However, after the mother returned, the baby and the father were nowhere to be found.
When the alarm was blown, residents embarked on a search party to find the baby.
A friend who had met Bright at a school park led the search party to the location but it was too late.
When the search party got to the scene, the father had already killed the three-week-old baby.
Suspect Bright and his friend are now in the custody of the Awutu Bereku District Police Command amid investigations into the matter.
