The Nigerian Army is set to conduct a battle simulation exercise in Abuja as part of activities scheduled for its upcoming Inter Formation Combat Platoon Obstacle Crossing Competition 2023.

In a press statement, Lieutenant Colonel Njidera Clara Agwu, the Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, disclosed that the exercise will take place from October 24 to October 25, 2023 at the 7 Guards Battalion Obstacle Course in Lungi Barracks, Maitama.

She stated that "the Exercise will involve real-time battle field simulations and activities. Accordingly, there would be large battle sounds that would be heard during the exercise which are in line with the training exercise."

The army spokesperson urged residents in Maitama, Asokoro, AYA and surrounding areas "not to panic but go about their normal respective businesses as the battle sounds would not raise any security concern."

Col. AGWU further assured that "all necessary safety measures have been put in place."

The mock battlefield simulation exercise forms part of preparations for the Nigerian Army's upcoming elite combat competition aimed at enhancing the troops' combat readiness through realistic training scenarios.
