Naa Yakubu Andani Dasana, regent and caretaker of the Nanumba kingdom in Northern Ghana, has made a call for peace and unity among all the northern tribes.

He said this when he approved the Tamale Cultural Oneness Festival hosted by The Taste Of Afrika.

Several distinct cultural groups call the northern region of Ghana home. However, there are shared traditions throughout the many Northern cultures. This includes events like the Damba festival and the fire festival.

Tamale will play home to the Cultural Oneness Festival, organized by the non-profit group Taste of Afrika to foster unity and publicize the unique traditions of Northern Ghana.

The CEO of The Taste of Afrika, Tengol K. Kplemani, recently made a visit to the palace of the overlord of the Nanumba Traditional Area, who used the opportunity to make a plea to all the tribes in the north to put aside their tribal differences and work together for the benefit of the people and the country.

He continued by saying that since the northern area of Ghana is home to Ghana’s oldest royal family, it is the northerners’ duty to promote and benefit from their cultural legacy overseas.

Because of this, he hopes that other chiefs and traditional rulers will go to Tamale, Ghana, for the Cultural Oneness Festival on December 6-9, 2023.
