Meteors round up preparations

The male Olympic team round up their build up towards the weekend's All-African Games final qualifier with a test game on Wednesday morning against the senior national side, the Black Stars.

Cecil Jones Attuquayefio watched the Black Meteors beat the locally-based select side of the Black Stars 5-0 at the Carl Reindorff park ahead of Saturday's away game against Nigeria.

Aside the game serving as a fine-tuning exercise for the Black Meteors, senior team coach, Claude Le Roy also accessed his selected locally-based players called for a weeks training exercise.

But for Olympic team coach, Cecil Jones Attuquayefio, he would be looking out for the positives before Thursday's departure for Nigeria.

After drawing goalless in the first leg clash, the stakes remain high as Nigeria host the deciding game with both countries seeking a place in next year's competition.

The winner of the second leg clash picks the single qualification slot for next year's All-African Games football competition.

And Cecil Jones Attuquayefio is confident of delivering Ghana qualification for the 2008 All-African Games in Algeria.

Cecil Jones Attuquayefio apart from ruing his team's lack of goals in a post game interview after the first leg says the tie is still open as he targets a response from his team ahead of the return clash.

"It's still even. We created lots of chances by unfortunately, we couldn't score.

"We would have to keep on fighting and in Abuja, the game would be decided. We controlled the game and somehow I am happy with that but we failed to score.

"It's not over yet."
