Osu Oxford Street to be made more attractive to businesses

The Municipal Chief Executive ( MCE) for the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly ( KoKMA) Hon. Samuel Nii Adjei Tawiah has assured business owners along the Osu Oxford Street of new developmental initiatives by the Assembly .

The KoKMA boss made the promise when he interacted with business owners at Osu as part of his interactions with business entities and stakeholders in the Municipality.

Hon. Samuel Nii Adjei who is serving his second term as the Korle Klottey Political Head said businesses that operate on the Osu Oxford street will receive best services that improve their businesses.

"We shall organise and manage the Oxford Street business area to attract more businesses thereby creating direct and indirect jobs and incomes for the people as well as generate more profit for business owners."

He indicated that his Assembly will soon come up with plans and measures to bring back night life on the Oxford street so as to once again make Osu the place to be during the nights as it used to be in the past.

"Also as part of measures to make the area attractive to businesses we shall ensure better management of the heavy traffic in the area in order to ensure free movement of people and vehicles."

In his response, the owner of the popular Frankies Restaurant on behalf of other business owners thanked the MCE and his entourage for taking time of his busy schedules to interact and assured them of good plans they have for them.

He added his voice to the need for the Municipal Assembly to help manage and control the heavy daily traffic from the Danquah circle to and from the Osu township .

The entrepreneur also appealed to the MCE for the construction of proper and well designed drainage to forestall flooding and loss of lives and properties during raining seasons.

"The availability of all these amongst other things will help promote tourism and attract more businesses not only in Osu but other areas within the Municipality", he pointed out.
