Heavily armed Police Officers lashed a man in Tamale in the Northern Region on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, after he resisted arrest.
The Police officers who were four in number were assigned to assist NEDCO/VRA officials to arrest some alleged persons involved in illegal power connections.
At one of the homes, the officers lost their cool after one man accused of engaging in the illegal power connection challenged what he stands accused off.
In a video making rounds, one of the officers is heard saying ‘you are using illegal…even the president is paying…”
Subsequently, one of the officers in the video is seen lashing the man after getting angry over the actions of the man.

Meanwhile, in a swift reaction to the video, the Ghana Police Service has announced that the four officers involved in the assault of the civilian has been interdicted with immediate effect.
While apologising for the conduct of the officers, the security agency says it will conduct an inquiry into the matter and ensure those found culpable are made to face sanctions according to its regulations.
