Aerojet Aviation Secures Grant for Feasibility Studies for MRO Construction at KIA

The US Government has provided a grant of $1.2 million to Aerojet Aviation Limited to undertake feasibility studies for the construction of a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO ) facility at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA). A positive outcome from the studies will see the construction of the facility which will put Ghana ahead in the aviation industry in the West African Sub-Region.

New Committee Re-examines Ghana’s Partnership with EgyptAir for Establishment of National Airline

A report by local aviation monitor, Aviation Ghana has it that the Transport Ministry with an oversight responsibility of the aviation sector has reconstituted the committee formed under the former Minister of Aviation, Kofi Adda. The reconstituted committee will re-examine the proposal by EgyptAir and make recommendations to the government.

Qatar Airways Rehiring Former Employees

Qatar Airways has now opened its doors to rehire its former cabin crew employees. The deadline for the applications is July 24, 2021, and adds up to an earlier recruitment of pilots by the airline. The recruitment forms part of the airline’s plans to take advantage of a busy travel period in the coming months.

Africa World Reiterate Commitment to Flexible Booking Modification

Africa World Airlines has reiterated its commitment to allow passengers modify their bookings anytime before their scheduled flights. With some terms and conditions, passengers who wish to modify their bookings can visit the airline’s website to do so.

Emirates to Expand IATA Travel Pass across Route Network

Emirates says it is hoping to expand the trial of the IATA Travel Pass to all destinations in its route network in the coming weeks. At the moment, the Pass is on trial in 10 cities where the airline flies to across the globe. The IATA Travel Pass is a mobile application that enables the sharing of updated COVID-19 regulations among governments, airlines, passengers and medical laboratories.

Qatar Airways to Trial COVID-19 Vaccination Verification on IATA Travel Pass

Qatar Airways has become the first airline to integrate COVID-19 vaccination authentication on the IATA Travel Pass Mobile Application. The integration trial will start this month with the airline’s cabin crew who will be flying to Doha from selected destinations. To use this feature on the app, COVID-19 vaccination credentials issued in Qatar and COVID-19 test results will be upload into the system by the cabin crew to check for travel eligibility.
