Atebubu-Amantin Municipal Assembly engages communities

The Atebubu-Amantin Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Community Development Alliance CDA, a non-governmental organization is engaging various communities within the municipality in preparation for the 2022-2025 medium-term development plan.

A team from the assembly led by the municipal planning officer Mr. Thomas Atibilla with support from Mr. Kunja Zakariya the project coordinator for the CDA has been engaging the communities in a review of the current 2018-2021 plan and needs assessment for the new one scheduled to be implemented from next year.

Community needs are solicited from the people who include traditional authorities, assembly and unit committee members, opinion leaders, and other individuals including women, and ranked in terms of priorities. This will form the basis for the provision of development projects in the next four years.

Places visited so far include Bolga Nkwanta, Primukyeae, Fante New Town, Sanwakyi-Afefreso, Abamba, and Duabone No. I.

Communities like Duabone No. II, Sabidi, Aworoso, Seinti, Dabi-Dabi, Densi, and Yusif Ekura which fall under the Duabone electoral area were present at the Duabone No. I engagement to present their needs.

Requests made varied from one community to the other. Water, educational, and health facilities and the extension of electricity however cut across the needs of most communities.

According to Mr. Zakariya, his outfit will use data gathered to draw community action plans which will serve as a blueprint for the development of the communities adding that the CDA will explore other sources of support for these communities for their development.

Mr. Atibilla reiterated the resolve of the assembly to cover the entire municipality to ensure that data gathered becomes a true representation of the aspirations of the people.
