Issah Moro, Chairman of Kwadaso Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has clarified that the report on ModernGhana and picked by some news portals have been misreported.

This follows ModernGhana publication titled, "Stop insulting judges and prepare to accept election petition verdict in good faith-NDC chairman to party members."

In a rejoinder, Mr Issah Moro says the facts in the story were misrepresented.

"I wish to state without any reservation that your headline is misleading and an attempt to create the impression that I favoured the humiliated 2020 election results the Electoral Commission announced against the NDC, or perhaps,l was advising party supporters to simply accept verdict the Supreme Court judges would come by with regards to the election petition, of which it was not so," he stated.

According to him, he rather urged the Supreme Court Justices to professionally come out with perfect verdict devoid of discrimination to enhance unity and peaceful coexistence in the country

"The NDC strongly believed that it won a credible election in the 2020 general polls, but the EC allegedly overturned the results to favour the ruling NPP.

"It was against this background that, our great party has petitioned the Supreme Court to ensure bringing the whole truth out, and believe the judges will do well to professionally come out with perfect verdict devoid of discrimination to enhance unity and peaceful coexistence in the country. That is the whole import of my message."

Dear Sir,

Re: Stop insulting judges and prepare to accept election petition verdict in good faith-NDC chairman to party members.

My attention has been drawn to your news story on your reputable electronics news portal with a banner, "Stop insulting judges and prepare to accept election petition verdict in good faith-NDC chairman to party members", published in your Friday, Feb 26, 2021, edition, and I wish to state without any reservation that your headline is misleading and an attempt to create the impression that I favoured the humiliated 2020 election results the Electoral Commission announced against the NDC, or perhaps,l was advising party supporters to simply accept verdict the Supreme Court judges would come by with regards to the election petition, of which it was not so.

The interview l had with your correspondent was that our party strongly believed that it won a credible election in the 2020 general polls, but the EC allegedly overturned the results to favour the ruling NPP.

It was against this background that, our great party has petitioned the Supreme Court to ensure bringing the whole truth out, and believe the judges will do well to professionally come out with perfect verdict devoid of discrimination to enhance unity and peaceful coexistence in the country. That is the whole import of my message.

I hope you will retract the errors to set the record straight.

Thank you.

Issah Moro (Chairman)
