DEC 3, 2020 LISTEN

The umbrella body of Muslim organisations in Ghana, the Federation of Muslim Councils (FMC) has noted, with gratitude to Allah, the relatively peaceful conduct of the Special Voting Exercise held across the country on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 for personnel from the various security agencies, journalists and official of the Electoral Commission.

The Federation has therefore declared Friday, December 4, 2020 as special day of Muslim prayers to Allah for enhanced peace ahead of, during and after the crucial December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana. Imams across the country are advised to devote their Friday Prayer Khutbahs (Sermons) to peace and the repugnance of violence in the elections.

The FMC is urging all Muslims, especially the youth, to continue to comport themselves and ensure not to engage in any form violence now, during and even after the elections.
