It Takes One to Know One

It is laughable to hear the so-called National Communications Officer of Ghana’s main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Samuel “Sammy” Gyamfi, castigate the host of “Kokrokoo,” the PeaceFM flagship morning or breakfast program, Mr. Kwami Sefa Kayi, as an insufferable dictator whose talking-heads current affairs program will continue to be boycotted by the so-called Communications Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (See “Take Your Peace FM, NDC Will Never Return to That Overhyped Station – Sammy Gyamfi” MyNewsGh.com / Ghanaweb.com 9/19/20).

This vow or promise is very interesting, because the leaders of the National Democratic Congress, founded by Chairman Jeremiah John Rawlings, also founder and leader of the erstwhile junta of the so-called Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC), and the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC), came from the bloodthirsty and veritably undemocratic tradition of the familial Anlo-Ewe Cabal of the globally infamous Rawlings-Tsikata Diarchy.

But, of course, we all know that the NDC boycott was launched when one of the party’s own’s legitimately selected representative on the “Kokrokoo” program, Mr. Bernard Allotey-Jacobs, also a former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, decided to call the proverbial spade a spade, by publicly and honestly lauding some of the glaringly and inescapably laudable development projects of President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), among them the fee-free Senior High School Policy Initiative and the supply and equipment of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) with global standard ambulances, whose unprecedented and copacetic state-of-the-art quality, Mr. Allotey-Jacobs has described as one that was of itself therapeutic.

Indeed, as I vividly recall at the time, what Mr. Allotey-Jacobs had said was that the inside of the Akufo-Addo-imported ambulances was so smashingly decorated and professionally set up that even a dying patient that was being transported to the hospital or a nearby medical center was likely to wake up or recover from his/her ailment before s/he got attended to by a physician. This is the problem that reckless political freeloading hunters of the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress had been having with the self-described Cape Coast Fisherman well before the May 6, 2020 announcement of the NDC’s boycott of Mr. Osei Kwame Despite’s flag radio station went into effect.

You see, the irony here is that just a little over four or five years ago, the Mahama-led government of the National Democratic Congress also imported about three- or four-hundred-plus vehicles that it intended to supply to the National Ambulance Service, nearly all of which shortly turned out to be hulks or engineless vehicles. Indeed, as of this writing, the Ghanaian taxpayer had yet to be apprised of the full cost of these veritable junkyard collectibles. The fact of the matter is that rather than frankly and honestly commend President Akufo-Addo and his astute Health Minister and distinguished business mogul, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, for a job well done, the notoriously foulmouthed Mr. Gyamfi, that is, the so-called Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, and his kleptocratic and opportunistic associates decided to take their anger and frustration out on the truth-talking Mr. Allotey-Jacobs.

Rather, the real targets of their ire or anger ought to be former President John “Akonfem-Kanazoe” Dramani Mahama, the pathological megalomaniac, and his equally bumbling extant Health Minister, Mr. Alexander Segbefia, whose effectively failed electioneering cheap-vote-soliciting ambulances got them into such criminal and scandalous mess, in the first place. Instead, these dumb and woefully inexperienced young operatives of the National Democratic Congress are pointlessly busy and desperately trying to power up and fly to Jubilee House on the back of Mr. Allotey-Jacobs and Mr. Kwami Sefa Kayi.

And, by the way, a politically astute and pragmatic Mr. Allotey-Jacobs has also aptly lauded President Akufo-Addo for some of the unprecedented wonders that the former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice has notched under the One District, One Factory economy recovery program and national development agenda. The Mahama-chaperoned and Asiedu-Nketia boosted Gyamfi Gang has decided to lunatically target the host of the “Kokrokoo” talking-heads program and Dr. Osei Kwame Despite’s PeaceFM radio station because the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress has no worthwhile or credible electioneering platform agenda for the development of the country.

Disclosure: By the way, Dear Reader, I have been deliberately embargoed by PeaceFM.com for about some five or six years now. It could actually be many more years than that. The reason or reasons are not clear to me. The operatives of that station no longer publish my columns, and any stuff that I send them, gratis, bounces back to my email; so, it is not as if I really gain anything from either defending Mr. Kwami Sefa Kayi or the PeaceFM radio station itself. I owe these two entities absolutely nothing, except the truth and reality of where we, Ghanaian citizens, stand as a people, and the laudable and therapeutic truths about the progressive and visionary Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party.

Anyway, I also wanted to add that, rather than soberly and maturely acknowledge this glaring fact and humbly throw in their towels, Monsieur Gyamfi and his rag-tag gang of Mahama lickspittles have chosen to throw spitballs at Mr. Sefa Kayi and Mr. Osei Kwame Despite’s PeaceFM radio station. And guess what, Dear Reader? These cynical political scumbags are fooling absolutely nobody!
