Be Bold; Don't Allow Any Politician To Campaign In Your Schools--Ablakwa Tells School Heads
17.07.2020 LISTEN

Member of Parliament for North Tongu District of the Volta Region, Hon. Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa has charged heads of both junior and senior high schools to courageously prevent politicians from coming to their campuses.

The high ranking member on the Foreign Affairs Committee of Parliament made this statement following reports of politicians entering school premises to campaign, something that the Ghana Education Service frowns on.

Hon Okudzeto said it is utterly despicable to see Senior High Schools being subjected to the reckless and reprehensible actions of certain individuals who are in desperate pursuit of political power.

Hon. Okudzeto further calls for tougher sanctions to be meted out to officials of the ruling party and any other politicians who are roaming on campuses of Senior High Schools just for campaign purposes at a time parents of students are not even allowed to visit their wards in the schools for fear of COVID-19.

Last week, the National Youth Organizer of the ruling NPP, Henry Nana Boakye who is also known as Nana B was captured with few party executives campaigning to students of Kumasi Anglican Senior High School, one of the many schools' registration centers he visited in the Ashanti Region.

Nana B's action however pulled a lot of condemnations from different angles with some calling for his arrest. Nana B later denied campaigning in the schools he visited.
