A circuit court at Goaso in the Brong Ahafo Region, has sentenced Kwaku Stephen, a 19-year-old ex-convict, to four years imprisonment for stealing a mobile phone and a pair of lady's shoes all worth GHC 120.
He pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing.
Inspector James Asamoah told the court, presided over by Mr. Osei Kwame Gyamfi that the complainant worked at the Kukuom Health Center whilst the ex-convict, unemployed, resided at Kukuom in Asunafo South District.
Prosecution said that on January 24 this year, the ex-convict broke into the complainant's room at the Centre and stole the communication equipment and the pair of shoes.
Insp. Asamoah said when the complainant spotted Stephen committing the offence, he raised the alarm and the ex-convict absconded.
Prosecution said on February 1 this year, Stephen was arrested when he was involved in another theft case.
