The Black Meteors of Ghana have posted a 2-0 win over Shooting Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium today as they continue preparations for the 2019 CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The continental showpiece will see 8 top teams competing for glory in Egypt as well as qualification to the 2020 Olympic Games which will be staged in Japan, Tokyo.

After days of camping, Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his 21-man squad engaged Shooting Stars in a warm-up game earlier today. At the end of the exercise, the Meteors emerged victorious with Real Oviedo striker Samuel Obeng netting a brace.

The team is expected to play another friendly before they depart for Egypt next week. Ghana is in the same group as Egypt with the other opponents including Mali and Cameroon.

The tournament starts on Friday, November 8, 2019, with Ghana expected to play her first match against Cameroon at the Cairo International Stadium at 20:00GMT.
