Nkawkaw, March 8, GNA - Accra Great Olympics continued their winning spree in the Middle League when on Wednesday they defeated fellow combatants Brong Ahafo United 2-1 at the Nkawkaw Park. Brong Ahafo United kicked off but soon lost the ball to Olympics who dominated play with their free flowing attacking football but the defence-men of B.A made sure they contained and prevented them from taking the lead.

Kumasi-based Class One Referee John K. Manu showed United's inside left and the life wire, Abedi Sarfo the red card for elbowing Olympics' Idrissu Sumaila in their 18 yard box.

The numerical disadvantage affected the performance of the B.A. United lads as Oly piled up pressure and went ahead to score the first goal in the 27th minute when inside left Edward Sosu's long range shot in the 18 yard box beat United's keeper John Cudjoe. Olympics continued to dominate play but wasted a clear scoring chance in the 30th minute when centre forward, Francis Mantey shot off target with only the keeper to beat.

In the 37th minute, Olympics Andrews Pomayie made it 2-0 when his close range shot zoomed past the net from the blind side of keeper Cudjoe.

Both teams made changes in the second half but it was B.A United who benefited from the changes as they pressurized Olympics and managed to pull back a goal in the 60th minute.

Centre forward Kwame Attram was the toast of his side when he lobbed the ball over the head of Olympics keeper, Joseph Halm after receiving a perfect pass from outside right Akwasi Boateng. After the goal, United made frantic efforts in search of the much needed equalizer but the Olympics defence centred around Richard Asare, Iddrisu Sumaila and Emmanuel Ansong foiled all their attempts at goal to enable them carry the day.
