Accra, Feb. 26, GNA - Mr Vincent Sowah Odotei, Managing Director of Vallex Lease Equip Limited has called on the youth to take active interest in sports in order to lead decent and healthy lives. He said sports play a very important role in the socio-economic development of a nation and also the development of the human being and so there is the need for the youth to participate in sporting activities to put them in a better healthy frame of mind.
Mr Odotei gave the advice at the end of Fun Games to commemorate the 10th anniversary celebration of the Osu Youth Volleyball Club on Saturday in Accra.
He urged the youth to be selfless and devoted to whatever they do so as to be successful in life. The Managing Director also advised members of the club to abstain from indiscriminate sex to prevent their contracting the HIV/AIDS virys and other sexually transmitted diseases.
Mr Edward Akpor, an Executive Member of the Club appealed to corporate bodies and institutions to assist the Club in the training and encouraging more youth in the area to become national assets. 26 Feb 06
