Felix Annan has expressed his gratitude to the management, the technical team and his teammates of Asante Kotoko hours after being confirmed officially as the new captain of the club.

The enterprising shot-stopper permanently takes over the armband from Amos Frimpong, who he deputised for a number of years. Amos Frimpong is presently in Guinea and precisely with AS Galoum.

Annan, in his maiden major assignment as the team’s new leader, will lead the Porcupines to Nigeria this weekend to face Kano Pillars in the first leg of the 2019/20 CAF Champions League, preliminary round clash at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

Speaking to Kotoko Express App in a brief chat, Annan said: “I’m proud to be named captain of this great football club. I promise to give my two hundred per cent [performance] for this club and we’ll continue to work as a team to achieve greater heights with my teammates.” he said.

Felix Annan arrived at Kotoko from WAFA Academy in 2015.

He has since established himself as the club’s safest pair of hands and that led Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah, to include him in Ghana’s 2019 AFCON team which was in Egypt.

However, he could not feature in any of the four matches played.
