Cup of Nations AFCON 2019: Ghana Needs Strong Team To Conquer Africa - John Antwi
MAY 10, 2019 LISTEN

Ghanaian forward, John Antwi has insisted the Black Stars will need a better team to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana will be hoping to end it 37 years in the upcoming tournament in Egypt.

Despite playing in 1992, 2010 and 2015 finals in the Africa Cup of Nations, the Black Stars have failed to lift the ultimate due to the lack of mental concentration.

However, John Antwi, in whom many football enthusiasts believe he has the solution to Ghana’s goal scoring problems and must be included in Kwesi Appiah’s final squad has insisted that Egyptians are ready to host and win the tournament but Ghana will need a better team to conquer the rest of the continent.

"Every country coming to the tournament are in to win it but all will depend on the team, so just as Ghana wants to win it, Egypt are equally ready to win it and keep the cup here,” he told Kumasi based FOX FM.

The 26-year-old is the highest foreign scorer in the history of the Egyptian Premier League.

Antwi has also carved for himself arguably the best Ghanaian striker across the globe this season scoring 10 staggering league goals for Misr El-Makasa.

The 32nd edition of Africa's most prestigious has been slated to start from June 21 to July 19.

However, the former Dreams FC striker is expected to be named in Kwesi Appiah's squad according to reliable sources.
