MAY 7, 2019 LISTEN

Captain of the Black Stars of Ghana Asamoah Gyan has revealed the Black Stars are obsessed with winning the African Cup of Nations.

In an interview with Kesseben FM, the striker disclosed the players mostly talk about it.

“Not winning the AFCON is a major worry for us the players. We the players talk about this AFCON a lot in our private conversation.”

Gyan also revealed what his biggest legacy would be.

“I have tried a lot for my country but the biggest legacy I want to leave is winning the African Cup of Nations trophy for Ghana.”

He further declared his readiness for this year’s AFCON to be staged in Egypt next month.

“I’m ready for the AFCON. By the grace of God, I’m fit. Yesterday I came in the game in the 80th minute and that is good for me.”

Ghana have come close to lifting the AFCON twice in 2010 and 2015 since they last did it 37 years ago.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group F with defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau, in an all-West African group.
