The executives of Women In Sports (NGO) have congratulated Coach Mercy Tagoe- Quarcoo for winning the West African Women’s Football Zone B Cup played in Cote D’Ivoire.

WISA co-founder and director, Madam Gloria Commodore knew as Mama G said the achievement of Mercy Tagoe- Quarcoo needs to be appreciated and applauded.

“She has done very well for women in sports, especially the footballers, and she deserves to be honoured,” she said.

Last year, the coach was present at the maiden WISA Achievers Awards where she collected an award for the Black Queens, but Mama G says Mercy is going to collect her own award this year.

She noted that Mercy Tagoe- Quarcoo is an example of good leadership and she should be maintained and used for the upcoming African Women’s Championship to be hosted in Ghana.

The Black Queen went to the neighbouring Cote D’ Voire and brought home the trophy after beating powerhouse Nigeria in the Semi-Finals and the host nation at the Grand Final.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian football fans have appealed to the government to handsomely reward the team, just like the Black Stars Team B who won the WAFU Cup at Cape Coast last year.

Rosalind Amoh, a member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Women’s Football Board and WISA said the Queens did very well at the tournament and they must be honoured to inspire and motivate them for the AWC.
