The Cape Coast Municipality was on Thursday was thrown into a state of silence, the type akin to what’s witnessed at the cemetery, when newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, Karela United outplayed and walloped Ebusua Dwarfs 4-0 in their second G-8 game at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Head Coach of Dwarfs, Bashir Hayford made five changes to his squad that lost 5-6 to Medeama on Sunday while Coach Johnson Smith of Karela United made four changes to his team which Hearts of Oak beat 1-0 on Saturday.

Dwarfs were forced to make a quick substitution after seven minutes when defender, Aikins Asante suffered a thigh injury. Solomon Sarfo Taylor, who was on Karela’s bench during the Hearts game opened the scoring in the 24th minute and just two minutes later he doubled it.

Coach Bash altered his tactics – taking out Wadudu Yakubu, a midfielder for Ebenezer Aboagye, a striker. That change made no difference. Karela United compounded Dwarfs’ misery with William Opoku, who a bench warmer, fetching the third goal in the 33rd minute.

It was certainly a day for the eventual Man of the Match, Solomon Sarfo Taylor, as he hit a hattrick in the 42nd minute, surely putting the game well beyond the Cape Coasters.

Dwarfs came into the second half strongly but the damage done to their team was irreparable.
