Cup of Nations Ghana Turns Attention To AFCON 2019
OCT 9, 2017 LISTEN

The Black Stars technical handlers will now channel all their strength towards winning the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after World Cup disappointments.

The head coach Kwesi Appiah has said his main target is to end the 33-year-old trophy drought in Cameroon who will host the AFCON in 18 months time.

The Black stars have disappointed the 25 million Ghanaians who were hoping to see their national team match up against the best in the World in Russia.

Few, however, will doubt Egypt did enough to secure their first World Cup appearance in 27 years.

This means winning the AFCON is the only way to appease the fans and the technical team is bent on making it happen.

Ghana last won the AFCON back in 1982 and have been to the final three times in the last 33 years with the latest being a penalty shot out defeat to Cote D'Ivoire.
