NPC salutes GOC President and new executives

Accra, March 21, GNA - The National Paralympic Committee (NPC), has congratulated Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah for his election as the president of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).

The NPC has also congratulated other members of the GOC who were elected onto the Executive Board.

A statement from the NPC said, the victory of Mr Nunoo Mensah follows his commitment and dedication to the cause of Ghana sports over the past years.

It said the newly elected president, has over years brought massive transformation to weightlifting, since taking over as the President of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation (GWF).

'It was therefore no surprise that majority of the Associations and Federations reposed their confidence in you by endorsing your candidature as the President of the GOC.

'From your track records, we have no doubts that, you will continue to work hard for the benefit of Ghana Sports.

'You have demonstrated quality leadership over the years and we have absolute confidence that Ghana Sports will grow from strength to strength.' The state noted.

'We have taken a critical look at the composition of the Board and we are convinced that, these are selfless individuals who have sports at heart and will work towards the success of the nation at all international events.' It added.

The NPC also called on the new leadership to restore its membership on the GOC, since both bodies are working in the interest of Ghana sports.
