The Egyptian Football Association are pushing hard to host their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Uganda and Congo at the Cairo International Stadium.

The idea is to get massive fans support for their remaining home matches.

''We will do our best to have the two matches for Egypt against Uganda and Congo played in Cairo stadium, but repairs that are being made around the stadium might stop us, especially if we want to have fans supporting the team,' EFA executive director Tharwat Sweilam Sweilam explained.

''If we failed to get the needed security approvals we'll start looking for alternatives, Borg Al Arab and other stadiums are options.''

Egypt top Group E of the World Cup qualifiers with six points from two games, two points ahead of second-placed Uganda.
