Accra, Feb 23, GNA - The Greater Accra Handball Association has fixed the commencement of the 2005 Greater Accra Handball League for March 17.
A statement signed by Mr Saka Acquaye, General Secretary of the Association copied to the GNA Sports said 19 teams made up of both male and female teams have registered to participate in the league. According to the statement, winners of both the male and the female champions will be assisted to participate in the Africa Clubs Championship scheduled for Benin, in December this year.
The statement said winners of the competition would also be presented with trophies and cash prizes.
Among the teams participating in the competition are HOSTAC, Young Veterans, Fire Service, Prison Service, Air Force, Ghana Army, Navy, Kpando Young Hands and Asomdwe Club.
In a related development, HOSTAC will play host to Asomdwe Club in a friendly match on Friday, February 25 at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex in Accra.
