Women's soccer gala fixed for March 12

Accra, Feb 04, GNA - The Greater Accra Women Soccer Committee (GAWSOC), will commence the 2005 season with their annual gala competition on March 12, at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra. The gala is to prepare the clubs for the league, which will kick start, on March 26, at all the league centres.

This was stated in a Press Release signed by Mr George Lawson on behalf of the Committee and copied to the GNA Sports to highlight its programme of activities for the 2005 soccer season.

It said in view of this, all old and new clubs are to register with the Committee for their participation between, February 4-28.

This is to pave the way for the Committee to implement the programmes lined up for year that includes the Gala, commencement of the first round of the league, end of first round of the league, the Greater Accra Sports festival and the end of the league.

In a related development, the Committee is inviting Chairmen and club representatives of all old and new clubs to a general meeting on Tuesday, February 8 at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium at 2.00 pm.

Meanwhile Tesano Ladies will trek to Nungua to engage Nungua Ladies in a return friendly encounter on Saturday at the Nungua Town Park. Last week, Tesano Ladies their Nungua counterparts 2-1, and in earlier results, Tesano Ladies beat Meridian Ladies 2-1 and followed by spanking Faith Ladies 3-1.
