Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko upped their preparations for the first leg of Sunday's Confederations Cup game with key friendly games over the weekend.

But while Hearts won in Togo, Asante Kotoko went down at the hands of Liberty Professionals in Kumasi on Sunday.

Eric Boateng scored the winner for the Dansoman based club on seventy-seven after Stanley Afedzie's opener for Liberty had been cancelled out by Edmund Owusu Ansah for Kotoko.

In Lome, Accra Hearts of Oak beat Togo Telecom 3-1 to go through the finals of the season ending top 4 competition in that country.

The Phobians will now play Dito club on Wednesday in the finals of the competition before they return to Accra on Thursday ahead of Sunday's crunch first leg tie.

Meanwhile Hearts of Oak fans are bracing up for what they call the titanic two-leg tie against their bitter rivals.

The National Chapters Committee, the umbrella body of the club's fans has urged all Phobians to hoist the red, gold and blue flags of the club all over the country.

There is also a heavy religious edge to the preparations for the Confederations Cup final.

All Phobians are due to observe a day of prayer and fasting on Thursday and Friday before crowning preparations with a rally at the Holy Gardens in Accra on the eve of the first leg match
