Executive Club 200 presents cash to Kotoko

Kumasi, Oct 27, GNA - Executive Club 200 of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Supporters Union on Tuesday presented an amount of five million cedis to the team at their Ridge training grounds in Kumasi. The money, according to Asonaba Boadu, Secretary to the Executive Club is to ginger and psyche up the players on to sparkle in their impending CAF Cup match against Enugu Rangers of Nigeria scheduled for Enugu this Saturday.

Making the presenting, Mr Boadu called on the players to be dedicated and committed to the fortunes of the club and to be focused on winning the match on Saturday.

He also asked the players to refrain from all acts of indiscipline that could not only jeopardise their careers, but also affect the performance of the team.

Captain Joe Hendricks, who received the amount, expressed the appreciation of the players to the Club for the timely presentation and expressed optimism about the team's qualification for this year's CAF Cup final.

He said despite the fact that Kotoko was leading Group A, the players had resolved not to be complacent but tackle every match with all the seriousness that it deserves.

"We will not be intimidated neither can any team scare us since we want to atone for the cup we lost in Kumasi two years ago". Joe Hendricks gave the assurance that the players had resolved all the differences that existed between them and the management to enable them concentrate to annexe the Confederations Cup.

He therefore charged the supporters to give the club all the necessary encouragement so that the players would be in a better frame of mind to accomplish the task ahead.

The captain commended the Executive Club 200 for its continuous contribution towards the goals of the team and urged other clubs to emulate their example. 27 Oct. 04
