Be factual: Avram Grant’s agent Rubie replies GFA

Saif Rubie, the agent of Avram Grant who has come under severe bashing from the GFA and certain circles of the Ghanaian media for indicating that quality players in the local league quickly seek greener pastures overseas, hence compelling the Black Stars coach to spend most of his time monitoring players abroad instead of local players as a way to justify why his client overstayed his leave.

The FA considered his comment as unfortunate, because it portrays the local league as lacking quality and asked Avram Grant if shares similar sentiment with his agent, but the Israeli dissociated himself from it.

Rubie has come out to explain himself by indicating that what he said about the local league has been taken out of context by Ghanaians and that he never stated that the local league lacks quality.

 'I never said anything like that about the league. What I said was that as soon as players achieve any success, they move out of Ghana,' he told Kumasi based Otec FM.

'I never said anything about the league not being competitive, so you need to get your facts right; everybody has an opinion, no problem. For I deal with facts, I don't deal with fiction. Anyway, I am not the coach of the national team, it is Avram Grant, whatever he wants to do, and he will do.

'Like I said to be honest, the issues are deeper than my interview, so it is not up to me to decide what the people, the media and the GFA should do about it or won't do about and that is another conversation'.

The FA final between Asante Kotoko and Medeama on Sunday, which ended 2-1 in favour of the former has justify that domestic football in Ghana has some quality.
