Accra, July 28, GNA - Coach John Eshun of the Black Queens has programmed a national training tour for the team ahead of the Fourth African Women Championship (AWC) scheduled to take place in South Africa.

The Queens who booked their ticket to the September 15 championship with an overwhelming 22-0 aggregate at the expense of their Guinean counterparts will tour seven regions as part of their build up exercise towards the month-long fiesta.

Coach Eshun told the GNA Sports that his team would engage the Regional women's teams at Bolgatanga, Tamale, Sunyani, Kumasi, Koforidua and Takoradi in the next three weeks.

The Queens who broke camp on Saturday are to reassemble at their Winneba camping base on Thursday for the commencement of the three-week tour which kick-starts on August 6 in Bolgatanga.

He told the GNA that the essence of the tour is to build upon the current form of the team and peak them ahead of the championship, which will be his maiden assignment since his appointment a few months ago. "We want to get the best of preparation for the girls for the task ahead, which we reckon will be very challenging'.

He was hopeful that the technical team would have an opportunity to augment the current squad with other good players for the South Africa competition.

Apart from the invitation of Hamdia Abass of Ghatel Ladies, all the players were part of the team that defeated Guinea to book their qualification.

The coach said he is currently reviewing the performance of the foreign-based players for invitation after the tour.
