President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF) Ambassador Ray Quarcoo has presented boxing equipment worth thousands of dollars to four regions in the country.

The items, which included boxing gloves, punch bags, skipping ropes, and mouth guards among others, were received by the various Regional Sports Development Officers and boxing coaches. The beneficiary regions were Ashanti, Central, Volta and the Brong Ahafo regions.

Ambassador Quarcoo, who considered the gesture as tools to the regions, said, 'We expect so much from the regions, but I believe without these tools, they can't produce much results.

'After this gesture, if they refuse to deliver, then we will have every cause to question them. This is one of the many things the federation is doing to promote and develop the spot,' he added.

He revealed that plans are far advanced to appoint liaison officers  for each region to ensure effective interaction between the federation and the regions.

The Chief Executive of National Sports Authority Wolanyo Agra commended the donor for the gesture. He gave the assurance that his outfit was on the verge of bringing down some Cuban boxing coaches to improve the technical base.

According to him, the expatriate's arrival would give their local components the opportunity to go outside for further training.
