Head coach of one of Egypt's hockey power house, Sharkia, Yahaya Debes has stated emphatically that he and his charges are here to defend the trophy they won, when Kenya hosted the event two years ago.
Ironically, Debes was in charge on the Police side that played second fiddle to Sharkia in the Kenya competition.
According to the coach, his side is blessed with players like Osama Hassanein, Ahmed Moshen, Effahah Ahmed Ezz among others, who have what it takes to win the trophy back-to-back.
'I was in charge of the Police team, so I know what I am talking about. We will be playing with Exchequers on Tuesday in the evening to smoothen the edges of the team,' said Debes.
They had their first training on Saturday at the National Hockey Stadium. Meanwhile, Sharkia walloped Zankor XI 13-0 in a preparatory game last Sunday.
