Buaben will be out for days Scottish side Dundee United have been hit by news that their midfielder Prince Buaben has been diagnosed with malaria.

The Ghana international was ill when returning to Scotland following an extended stay in his homeland, but recovered to join up with the rest of the squad on the Terrors pre-season tour of Ireland.

Buaben, though, has not returned to full training and has now been told that he faces an extended spell on the sidelines after contracting malaria.

Buaben said: "I can't believe I picked up malaria. It has been quite a big shock.

"I went away with the national team and they gave me some pills, which I took.

"But I stayed on in Ghana for a while after the football http://www.clubcall.com/dundee-united/midfielder-facing-united-setback-924702.html was finished and I didn't have any more pills to take so it seems my protection ran out."
