Satellites preps hit a snag

Ghana's Under-20 head coach Sellas Tetteh looks worried after his preparations for the Fifa World Youth Championship later this year were scuppered.

The foreign-based players of the team are yet to train with since winning the African Championship in Rwanda early this year.

Tetteh is also struggling to put a team together after premier league sides refused to release their players for camping as the league gradually reaches home stretch with six games to spare.

He has been told he can only have the players after the completion of the Glo Premier League and that has scattered his plans.

The Black Satellites have not been involved in any high profile friendly since losing 2-5 to South Africa at the Ohene Djan stadium two months ago.

An invitation to play in a four nation tournament in Venezuela and a proposed four nation tourney in South Africa next month have all been cancelled.

Team officials claim they have now confirmed a friendly date with Nigeria at the Ohene Djan stadium on August 15 and another against South Korea.

Ghana are paired in Group D with Uzbekistan, Uruguay and England.
