14 Awards Up For Grabs

Fourteen awards will be up for grabs at the third Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Professional League Board (PLB) awards night to be held at the Round Pavillion of the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre (GITFC) on October 24.

The awards include the Best Player of the Year to be competed for by Heart of Lions Dominic Adiyah and Asante Kotoko duo of Eric Bekoe and Harrison Afful.

The wnner will be the proud owner of a VW Suran car and a trophy.

Again, former Heart of Lions' defender, John Boye will contest Kotoko's Harrison Afful and Samuel Inkoom for the best defender Award which goes with a cash amount and a plaque.

The Best Goalkeeper award will see a keen contest by Abdoulaye Soulama of Kotoko, Fatau Dauda of Ashgold and Zaytuna's Tetteh Lugard with Latif Salifu of Liberty expecting to slug it out with Accra Hearts of Oak's duo of Kofi Abanga and Gibril Pawrick for the discovery of the season award.

For coaching, Bashiru Hayford of Kotoko comes face to face with Oti Akenteng and Fodi Omari of Zaytuna just as Sylvester Asare Owusu of Kotoko contest the Best Chief Executive award with Walter of Lions and Alhaji Yakubu Moro of Berekum Arsenal.

William Agbovi, Joseph Lamptey and Cecil Fleitcher are nominees for the best referee award just as Haruna Ayuba, David Laryea and George Seija vie for the best Assistant Referees.

Contesting for the Fair Play Team is King Faisal, Wa All Stars and RTU while Kotoko, Heart of Lions and Arsenal go for the Champion Club Awards.

For bagging 17 goals, Eric Bekoe of Kotoko will smile home with the Goal King Award with another award for the Best Club suppers.

Special awards will be bestowed on Justice Ampiah, a former chairman of the FA congress, Justice Anin Yeboah and senior and Junior Staff of the GFA.
