Dreams FC has secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 2023/2024 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Despite a 2-1 loss to Rivers United in their final group match on Sunday, the "Still Believe" lads advanced to the next round.

The confirmation of Dreams' progression came after Club Africain drew against AC Lobito in the other group fixture.

Abdul Aziz Issah put Dreams ahead with a goal after the 40th minute, courtesy of an assist from forward John Antwi. This goal propelled Dreams into the lead at halftime.

However, Rivers United equalized shortly after the break, with Echeta Ugonna Deputy finding the net to level the score.

Dreams faced adversity when Seth Agyemang was sent off in the 81st minute after receiving his second yellow card of the half.

The game seemed destined for a draw until Rivers United scored a late winner, securing all three points.

With this advancement, Dreams FC become the first Ghana Premier League team to reach the knockout stage of the CAF Confederations Cup since Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak achieved the feat in 2004.
