The first match of Week 26 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season has been cleared this afternoon at the Golden City Park in Berekum.
In an exciting contest, Berekum Chelsea hammered Asante Kotoko 3-0 to secure an emphatic victory.
The two clubs locked horns today needing the three points to advance on the league standings.
While Asante Kotoko needed the points to pursue their Ghana Premier League title ambitions, the Blues aimed for a win to push for a top-four finish.
In a game where the Porcupine Warriors failed to threaten, the Blues took full advantage in the second half to lash the visitors.
Courtesy of a brace from Kalou Outtara and a delightful strike from Kofi Ansu Patrick, Berekum Chelsea secured the win to earn all three points at stake.
The win leaves Asante Kotoko 5th on the league table with 39 points while Berekum Chelsea climbs to 8th with 37 points.
The Ghana Premier League continues on Saturday with two matches before the remaining six games are cleared on Sunday.
