Many in the Volta region have reacted to the world cup final qualifiers draws held in Cameroon on Saturday, January 22, 2022 which saw Ghana Black stars being paired with rivals Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The winner of home and away fixtures qualifiers to Qatar this year.

Some are of the view that despite the abysmal performance of the senior national team the Ghana Black Stars at AFCON the team can still qualify to play in the FIFA World Cup tournament.

Others also believe that Ghana versus Nigeria matches does not matter the current form of the teams comparing them to that of Hearts of Oak versus Kumasi Asante Kotoko games which they said the best team on the day will make it.

Sports journalists Samuel Dovlo Dinho and Foli Michael Jakidy of Jubilee radio in Keta and Kekeli radio at Ho respectively in an exclusive interview with ModernGhana News disclosed that the match would be tough for the Black Stars.

Ghana Black stars have played the Super Eagles of Nigeria 57 times, winning 19 times with Eagles recording 16 whilst both settle for a draw in 19 appearances since 71 years ago.

Nigeria qualified for 2002 world cup hosted by Korea and Japan by beating Ghana 3-0 in the second leg at Port Harcourt after a goalless game in Accra.

Ghana further participated in three world cups, first in 2006 in Germany, South African in 2010 and Brazil 2014 but missing in Russia 2018.

With current form of Nigerian senior national team in the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon which many have tipped to win the trophy, some Ghanaians believed that Black stars may find it difficult to go pass them for Qatar world.
