THIS Ghana Hockey Association (GHA) will organise a residential coaching seminar for Ghanaian and Nigerian coaches in Accra from October 24 to 29.
The seminar will attract a total of 30 hockey coaches of intermediate level to high levels from the two countries. The seminar will seek among others to upgrade the skills and competence of participants currently coaching at senior club or national and state levels.
It will also advise the federations of the two countries on the necessary steps for the establishment and implementation of a National Coaching Scheme which provides for the ongoing education, training and accreditation of coaches.
The instructor for the seminar which will consist of both theoritical and practical aspects is FIH coach, Mr Ivan Boulton, based in South Africa.
A similar regional seminar for umpires and technical officials from Ghana and Nigeria was held at Lagos from September 10 to 15.
