Great Olympics on Friday afternoon scored late to cruise to a 3-2 win against WAFA SC in the Ghana Premier League when they visited Sogakope.

The capital-based club today played as a guest to the Academy Boys at the Red Bull Arena to fight for points on matchday 23 of the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.

Excelling in an exciting contest in the first half, Great Olympics had the lead in the 14th minute courtesy of a direct free-kick converted by captain and poster boy Gladson Awako.

In the first 10 minutes of the second half, an own goal from Konadu Yiadom doubled the lead for the visitors before WAFA SC improved their play to restore parity.

Talented attackers Enoch Asubonteng and Justus Torsutey equalized in the 69th and 76th minutes respectively to give the home team a chance to fight for the win.

In the pulsating end to the encounter, Abdul Manaf Mudasiru scored in added time to seal a 3-2 win for Great Olympics.

Today’s victory sends Great Olympics to the top of the Ghana Premier League table pending the outcome of the remaining fixtures of matchday 23.
