Spanish tactician, Alejandro Lazaro has safely arrived in Ghana today and is set to take up the job as an assistant head coach for Premier League side Ashanti Gold SC.
At the end of the first round of the 2020/2021 Ghanaian top-flight league campaign where the Miners struggled to compete, they have decided to make changes to their technical bench.
Last month, the club confirmed the appointment of French coach Romain Folz as their head coach in a bid to have quality on the touchline to turn around what has been a poor campaign so far.
Today, Ashanti Gold SC is reinforcing their technical bench and have according to reports sealed an agreement with Spanish tactician Alejandro Lazaro.
He comes in to play the role of an assistant to Romain Folz and will also double as the team’s goalkeeper's trainer for the remainder of the Ghana Premier League season.
With 18 matches into the season, the Obuasi-based club currently occupies the 11th position after amassing just 23 points.
This weekend, the team will hope to pick three points when they host Hearts of Oak at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on matchday 19.
New assistant coach Alejandro Lazaro will be in the stands for the match before officially beginning work on Monday.
