The Omanhene of the Agogo Traditional Area, Nana Akuoko Sarpong has backed Accra Great Olympics to win major honours and he’s hoping the team could do him proud with 2020/21 Premier League title as he celebrates 45 years on Agogo stool.

The 83-year-old who doubles as Chairman of the Council of Patrons and former Chairman of Olympics has been monitoring the club closely and is thrilled with their impressive campaign so far.

It has been 47 years since the Wonder Club last got their hands on the Premier League trophy but Nana Akuoko Sarpong believed winning the League Title wasn’t impossible, after victory over Medeama raised hopes in the title contention.

In a 1.40 minute video viewed by Modernghana.com, the reverend traditional ruler was heard urging supporters fans who had gathered at his palace to continue their relentless march and push for the ultimate.

He said “For the moment I am very happy, of course, for the club...but go and bring the cup to celebrate my 45th anniversary.”

Olympics reclaimed the top spot after securing another valuable three points when they beat title rivals, Medeama 1-0 in a highly entertaining and open encounter.

Olympics took advantage of a weekend when their closest rivals dropped points.

Olympics, Karela, Hearts, Kotoko and Medeama all have their eyes on the title and every game for the rest of the seasonwill impact the race.
