Head coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars, CK Akonnor has written to inform the Ghana Football Association [GFA] he will need a physical trainer.
After being named as a replacement for Kwesi Appiah on a two-year deal this year, Akonnor played his first match last week.
The Black Stars lost to Mali in his first friendly encounter but stunned Qatar 5:1 in his second game in Antalya in Turkey.
However, ahead of the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] qualifiers next month, Akonnor has informed the country's football governing body he will need a physical trainer to keep the players fit.
"Coach CK Akonnor has requested for a physical trainer with the expertise to do that job," the Communications Director of teh Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum told Kumasi based Nhyira FM.
"Assistant coach David Duncan cannot be pressured with that job too," he added.
The Black Stars will play Sudan in a doubleheader next month.
Akonnor has been tasked by the GFA to end the country's Afcon trophy drought.
