Former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Yussif Chibsah says the one-year transfer ban imposed by Otumfuo on the club will bring consistency but insists there must be some considerations that will allow recruitment in case the club is hit by injuries.

At the inauguration ceremony of a 9-member board of directors constituted for the Ghanaian giants today, Kofi Badu who is the Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace stressed that no signings will be allowed for the first team for the next year.

“Kotoko management is not allowed to sign a new player for the first team for one year and that is an order by the club patron”, he said.

Speaking to Oyerepa FM on the transfer ban, Yussif Chibsah says it should be eased in such a way that the technical team can bring in players when members of the current squad sustain injuries.

”Otumfuo's directives of one year ban should be flexible to make room for unforeseen circumstances like injuries in as much as it will bring consistency”, the former Kotoko midfielder said.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu has accepted the latest decision in good faith even though he adds that he will plead for permission from Otumfuo when his team needs to sign.
